Size/Appearance: The hairworm is very fine and hair-like and is only up to 7mm long.

Location in Horse: Live in the stomach causing irritation and can damage the stomach lining.

Symptoms: The hairworm can cause a loss of appetite and affect the growth rate, as well as causing diarrhoea.
