Neck
threadworms have an intermediate host, the biting midge.
Size/Appearance: The worm is
long and slender. Males about 6cm and females up to 30cm in
length.
Location in Horse: Found in
the skin of the horse, particularly around the forelegs and
neck.
Symptoms: Symptoms include
occasional skin irritation and also painless swelling of the
tendons and ligaments. |
